Little Angels bring lots of happiness to our residents

Grace Methodist Church and Juniper Village at Cape Coral has a very special relationship.  This holiday season the children of the parish decided to adopt our residents as their honorary grandparents.  We were invited to the Church to watch their Christmas Nativity program and join in their festivities.  What a sight to see 50 beautiful children aging from 2 to 4 years old perform without a flaw.  Our Juniper Village residents were VIP guests with reserved front row seats for this outstanding performance.  The show was followed by Christmas Caroling and their angelic voices were as mesmerizing as their performance.  After a very long standing ovation the children escorted our residents to their banquet hall for a holiday celebration.  Juniper Village prepared cookies and punch for the party and the children provided lots of hugs, kisses and memories that will not be forgotten.  There is nothing more special than the love that these children bestowed upon their adopted grandparents for the holiday.  Although the holidays are still in full swing at Juniper Village, our residents are already looking forward to joining their little sweethearts for their Valentine's Day Dance in February.

It's "All In The Family" at Juniper Village at Cape Coral

This holiday season the residents and staff at Juniper Village at Cape Coral started a search for a family to adopt.  And, the "perfect" family came into our lives this week.  Nathan Henning, a very proud Serviceman in the US Army, returned from overseas duty earlier this year.  After serving his tour in Iraq, Nathan was stationed in Germany prior to returning to his home in Cape Coral.  Nathan and his wife Ashley visited Juniper Village on Wednesday, along with their beautiful 18 month old daughter Layla to meet our residents.
Their smiling faces and sincere appreciation for being included in our "Juniper Family" took our residents' breath away.

Earlier this fall our residents held a very successful rummage sale and all proceeds were donated to our new family to make their Christmas a little more jolly.  In addition, Juniper Village gave the Hennings a turkey for their Christmas dinner table.  One of our creative and talented residents knitted a blanket and booties for their daughter.  After all the excitement of the presents came a wonderful announcement from Ashley Henning - she is expecting another baby in May!  All of our residents, men and women, are planning a baby shower, and talking about how they are going to spoil Layla and her new sibling.  The Hennings will be coming to our Christmas Party and, of course, will be attending all of our monthly Family & Friends Dinners...because they are now a part of our Juniper Family!

We would love to have you or your family member join our Juniper family.  Come on down and see how we nurture the spirit of life in each individual we touch.

Juniper Village at Cape Coral Joins Juniper Village at Naples for Lunch

The gang from Juniper Village at Cape Coral is all dressed up and ready to go.  They are sporting their October colors in yellow, orange, and black.  The team is anxious to be on their way to visit our sister community, Juniper Village at Naples.
Once there, we shared a festive fall feast.   The tables were beautiful with fall paisleys and pumpkin centerpieces. The chef clearly outdid himself! The menu included bloody soup, werewolf burgers, and mummified potatos.  We knew it would be a feast, but not a frightful one.  The ultimate fright was dessert - dismembered fingers and black cats.

We left with new friends, fond memories and plans to return soon for another eventful luncheon.  Making connections like these is just one more way that we nurture the spirit of life at Juniper Village.
